Estimates and decisions
Results depend on the values and assumptions provided. Actual energy use can differ because of weather, appliance condition, voltage, control behavior, tariff changes, billing periods, taxes, subsidies, and human behavior.
Use a qualified professional for electrical safety, wiring, medical, accessibility, or regulated energy advice. Do not use Wattwise to override manufacturer safety instructions.
Device-local data and backups
No login is required. Users are responsible for the accuracy of entered data and for downloading backups before clearing browser storage, using private-browsing cleanup, resetting a device, or moving to another browser.
User submissions and intellectual property
Users retain responsibility for appliance, tariff, bill, note, and source information they submit and must have the right to use it. Submitting information grants the service the limited permission needed to store, process, display, export, and delete it as requested.
The site interface, original explanatory content, and calculation implementation remain subject to the rights stated by the deployment owner and repository licences. Third-party names, datasets, and publications remain the property of their respective owners.
Acceptable use
Do not probe private data, bypass access controls, upload malicious content, automate abusive traffic, misrepresent sourced data, or use the service to make deceptive claims. Rate limits and moderation may protect the product and community data.
Availability and changes
Calculation versions, appliance data, tariffs, and features can change. Saved calculation snapshots preserve historical context where available. Deployment owners should publish jurisdiction-specific entity, contact, dispute, and liability terms before a broad public launch.
Suspension and termination
The owner may restrict abusive automation, attempted unauthorised access, malicious uploads, or use that creates a security or availability risk. Users can export or clear their device-local Wattwise data through the Settings and Reports controls.
Liability, governing law, and contact
Any warranty disclaimer, liability limit, indemnity, dispute process, consumer-rights wording, and governing law must be supplied and professionally reviewed for the deployment ownerโs jurisdiction. No jurisdiction is inferred or invented in this version.
Use the Contact page for notices. These terms are a technical launch draft, not a substitute for legal advice.
